Delete Your Data

Photaf Panorama and Photaf Panorama Free — by Bengigi Studio

This page explains how to delete some or all of your Photaf data without deleting your account. It applies to both the Photaf Panorama (paid) and Photaf Panorama Free Android apps, as well as the Photaf community gallery on this website.

If you want to delete your entire account instead, see Delete Account.

1. Delete individual uploaded panoramas

From the website

  1. Open https://www.photaf.com/gallery in your browser.
  2. Click Sign in with Google and sign in with the Google account you use inside the Photaf app.
  3. Open the panorama you want to remove.
  4. Use the panorama's delete option to remove it from the gallery.

From the Android app

  1. Open the Photaf app and go to the Web Gallery tab.
  2. Make sure you are signed in with the same Google account that uploaded the panorama.
  3. Long-press the panorama you want to remove.
  4. Choose Delete and confirm.

Deleted panoramas are removed from our active systems immediately. The image file, generated thumbnails, caption, optional location tag, visibility setting, and capture geometry metadata associated with that panorama are deleted. Backups may retain copies until they are overwritten through normal backup rotation, typically within 30 days.

2. Remove panoramas you saved on your device

Panoramas captured in the Photaf app are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to our servers unless you explicitly upload them. To remove a local panorama:

  1. Open the Photaf app and go to My Panoramas.
  2. Long-press the panorama you want to remove.
  3. Choose Delete and confirm.

You can also clear all local Photaf data by uninstalling the app, or by going to Android Settings → Apps → Photaf → Storage → Clear data.

3. Remove a vote you cast

Votes you cast on community panoramas can be reversed by re-opening the panorama in the gallery and toggling the vote off. There is no separate stored history of past votes once a vote is undone.

4. Stop sharing optional location data

Photaf only attaches location to a panorama if location is enabled when you capture or upload it. To stop sharing location going forward, revoke the Photaf app's location permission from Android Settings → Apps → Photaf → Permissions → Location, or disable location features inside the app.

To remove location data already attached to a previously uploaded panorama, delete that panorama using the steps in section 1 above and re-upload it without location, or contact us using the address below to ask us to remove the location field from a specific panorama.

5. Reset advertising identifiers (Photaf Panorama Free only)

The free version of Photaf shows ads via Google AdMob. Ad personalization is controlled by your device-level advertising ID, which Photaf does not store on our servers. To reset it or limit personalized ads, use Android Settings → Privacy → Ads and Google's advertising privacy controls. You can also revisit your in-app consent choice the next time the consent screen appears.

6. Export your data first (optional)

If you want a copy of your account data before deleting items, sign in to https://www.photaf.com/account and click Export My Data (JSON).

7. Other requests

For any other deletion request — for example removing a specific support email, removing your data from server logs, or asking us to delete data on your behalf if you cannot sign in — email support@bengigi.com from the email address associated with your Photaf account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request and we aim to respond within 30 days.

Server logs containing IP addresses are normally retained for up to 30 days, longer only when needed for an active security or abuse investigation.
